Atlanta, Georgia’s Tedo Stone has been hyping up his forthcoming album, Summer Sun, due May 25th via Laser Brains, and today we’re introducing the third and final single, “Down In Your Ways”.
Atlanta, Georgia’s Tedo Stone has been hard at work hyping up his forthcoming third studio recording, Summer Sun, which sees release on May 25th via Athens-based label, Laser Brains. Previous singles, “Summer Sun” and “How Do You Know When It Goes Bad?”, debuted on Popmatters and Paste respectively and today we have the pleasure of introducing the third and final single “Down In Your Ways”.
Stream all three of the new songs today, and be sure to get your fix as no more new music will drop ahead of Stone’s album release show at the Georgia Theatre rooftop (with Palace Doctor), also on May 25th.
We hit up the marvelous musician for his take on the song and meaning thereof to which he was kind enough to elaborate as follows:
“‘Down in Your Ways’ was a fun one to record. It started, as most do, with a lot of electric guitars. McKendrick Bearden (Grand Vapids), who co-produced the record, insisted on replacing electrics with acoustics & wanted to add bottles, cans, and other random percussive noises in when the second verse hits. I was very attached to the demo version I’d done going into the studio, but this one ended up being my favorite song on the album. I turned a lot of these songs over to McKendrick & the rest of the guys when we went to record. Putting them in charge definitely took the songs to new places & I love that about this record.”
