Carpenter Brut (w/ Le Matos) @ Velvet Underground (Toronto, ON) on March 12, 2017 [Photos]
When the Velvet Underground gets a good show like Carpenter Brut, be prepared to rub elbows with the masses. The venue might be small, but it always packs a 1-2 punch.
When the Velvet Underground gets a good show like Carpenter Brut, be prepared to rub elbows with the masses. The venue might be small, but it always packs a 1-2 punch. On March 12th, those punches came in the form of French Canadian synth duo Le Matos (popular for their work on the Turbo Kid soundtrack) who warmed up the crowd with their drive-heavy beats.
After a cool, retro video introduction, Carpenter Brut took to the stage and began slaying the crowd with hit after hit, including a few of my personal favourites “Turbo Killer,” “Division Ruine” and “Meet Matt Stryker.” This outstanding musician is touring as a three-piece and nothing could have prepared us for both the calibre (audio quality, performance, atmosphere) and madness of their show!
