Avenged Sevenfold – “The Stage” [Song Review]
After teasing fans prior to its release, Avenged Sevenfold return with some long-awaited new music so we give our thoughts on new single “The Stage”. Read our review inside…
Just when you thought that the flames have died down from the “Shepherd of Fire”, a strong wind suddenly kicks up and re-ignites the flame. The boys of Avenged Sevenfold waste no time from their worldwide Hail To The King success firing on all cylinders with arguably could be their most creative song to date, “The Stage”.
The guitars are the main attraction here: Starting off a ’la Hail to the King, Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance prove why they are one of the top guitar duos in the world in this soon to be classic often overpowering the unique voice of M. Shadows. The drum work of Brooks Wackerman if masterful as well. Simply put; the boy is going off for the majority of the eight minutes and thirty seconds and I can’t wait to see this being performed in a live setting.
Just like a rollercoaster, there are a lot of twists and turns with this single and a lot of changes in pace. If “The Stage” is any indication of the future of A7X, I like where this band is heading and I’m coming along for this ride!
