Steel Panther @ Irving Plaza (New York, NY) on May 27, 2014 [Photos]
Sometimes a band comes along and breaks all the rules. Steel Panther is one of those bands.
The Skinny: Sometimes a band comes along and breaks all the rules. Steel Panther is one of those bands. They played to a sold out crowd at Irving plaza on May 27th taking long breaks in between their songs to rank out one another, pick on some poor African American guy in the front row, or just be down right vulgar with songs like, “It Won’t Suck Itself” and “Party Like Tomorrow is the End of the World,” it’s no wonder this parody band is gaining in popularity. Make no mistake, the Cali-based SP are very accomplished musicians, from bassist Lexx Foxx to lead vocalist Mike Starr, they can and do often rip into well-covered tunes from Van Halen and Journey. Next up is a tour with Judas Priest. See them while you can!
