Dynamic Los Angeles indie rock band, Polaris Rose, are set to release their vibrant new EP OceanSongs, on April 22, 2014. Peter Anthony and Madelynn Elyse are the vibing duo that make up Polaris Rose and together work to craft an effortlessly eccentric sound. Their music is a place where illustrious songwriting collides with intricate harmonies for an electrifying yet sparse atmosphere of music. Their newest release, OceanSongs is a hyped-up, smattering of sounds. Self-Produced by Peter and Madelynn, the album carries with it a consistent and unique sound, the arrangements and melodic themes building on top of one another for a cohesive, highly anticipated release. Check out the free download of the song “Hurricanes”.
The EP begins with the energetic “Goddess,” a tightly coiled track that explodes with a note-bending bloom that bleeds into an epic climax. Peter and Madelynn launch into their signature, romanticized harmonies, filling the dissonant melody with sweet goodness. Next up is the eccentric “Hurricanes,” in which Madelynn’s vocal talents fully unfurl; twinkling vocals mingle with pounding quick tempo drums, courtesy of Kiel Feher. The unembellished finish and ever light melodic accompaniment remains a theme throughout the record, allowing the emotional songwriting to truly come out of the wood work, shining a light on their songwriting. OceanSongs contains songs full of uncertainty, dedication, and reflection; and a sound that waivers between robust lifts and deliciously sweet pulses of emotive fireworks.
