Cosmonauts – “Cold Harbor” [Bandcamp Song Stream]
Hailing from Glenn Falls, New York the band Cosmonauts have gained local and regional attention for their lurid story-telling through unrestrained emotion, complex lyricism, and non-traditional strong structures. Not only do the band’s lyrics paint macabre pictures, but their instrumentation will capture you like the threading of a needle, weaving in and out of a wall of sound.
The Skinny: Hailing from Glenn Falls, New York the band Cosmonauts have gained local and regional attention for their lurid story-telling through unrestrained emotion, complex lyricism, and non-traditional strong structures. Not only do the band’s lyrics paint macabre pictures, but their instrumentation will capture you like the threading of a needle, weaving in and out of a wall of sound.
For their first three EP’s, the band tackled a concept series about a man who couldn’t get over his harsh divorce and ended up killing his ex-wife. The band released a new single called “Cold Harbor” about a month ago, and is a complete separate story from anything the band has done so far. This time around, the band tackles a modern day issue with teenage pregnancy and abortions. Definitely worth a listen!
