N.N.: Exclusive Eastern Canadian “Princes Tour” Journal with Drummer “Tones” – #2 Winnipeg
Winnipeg: We hit the road a little later for the 6 hour drive to the Peg. Breakfast was had in the parking lot of a strip mall. We were all feeling pretty good despite the late night. The road from Regina to Winnipeg had a lot more to see which was a nice change to our previous day of driving.

We were playing Ozzy’s tonight located in the Osbourne inn hotel. We again arrived a couple hours early and we again found the venue followed by a hotel. Osbourne street was a vibrant street full of shops, restaurants and bars. Our hotel was downtown near the parliment building. This was one of the nicer downtown areas we’ve seen on our travels. We’re fans of the digital bus stops. So after a few drinks we headed to the venue. Walking up to the doors I was thrown off because Lemmy from Motorhead was sitting on the steps of the entrance door. Turns out it wasn’t the real Lemmy but the lead singer of a Motorhead tribute band called Snaggletooth. They were playing the other venue located in the hotel called the Zoo.
This show was much like our show in Regina. Turn out was decent and the bands were all rockin. We played with local Oi punks the knuckledraggers, zero cause, & Up N Atom. These guys were solid dudes. The show we had booked fell apart and they graciously added us to their show. They also gave us the entire profit from the door since we were the traveling band. Great guys. Met a lot of cool people in Winnipeg. We crashed right after show. We knew we had a long drive ahead of us. The promoter at Ozzys was telling us to look out for dear carcasses on the road. They had made the same drive and hit a deer carcass which split 3 of their tires and sent them into a ditch. Winnipeg to Toronto 20 something hours of just driving.
I’m now typing this in a hotel in Thunder Bay. We arrived last night around midnight. We were delayed minutes after entering Ontario due to a crash between a motorcycle and a truck. I probably won’t get to any of Thunder Bay as we’re leaving in an hour. I was hoping to get a glance at Lake Superior. Oh well back to the road. Hope we can reach Sudbury tonight.
