What one piece of gear do you use to obtain your signature sound?
Ivy: Straight up, just my sweet Warwick Corvette $$ bass – it works magic!
What about it makes it so important to you?
Ivy: I just love the natural wood tone that comes out of that thing! You can plug it into just about anything and it sounds beautiful. I also tune real low and use super heavy strings and it handles it real well. The double humbuckers give it a nice deep growl that’s dirty and clean all at the same time, and it’s got great low sustain!
What are the major pros and cons?
Ivy: My favourite thing about it is how versatile it is. You can configure the humbuckers separately or to work together in parallel. The pickups and the ash body just give it this amazingly deep, clean tone! The only thing I can say against it, is the beautiful oil finish got destroyed the first week of tour… but that’s to be expected.
How long have you had it, how do you use it, would you ever change it?
Ivy: I got this particular bass about a year and a half ago. I use it as my main instrument at every live show and wouldn’t change it for anything!
