It took a line up change and the signing of final record contract papers with Fearless Records for this album to come see the light of day. And it’s probably for the best. The talent this band has is undeniable; they gel so well and with that they crafted a fine-tuned album. Charged with double-bass pumps, aggressive vocals paired with quality singing and stellar lyrics, Witness has the recipe for awesome.
The vocal harmonies are great and singer Beau Bokan has such a talent. His voice and techniques powerfully engage the listener and for example, can be heard so well in “Hey Baby, Here’s That Song You Wanted.” Coincidentally, this is probably my favourite song off the album; it’s really good. Post-hardcore is one of those genres in which a band can easily gain fans, yet be gone altogether in a heart beat. Not so much for this release or group. Their varying dynamics, the screams and chants, the tempo and their creativity can only solidify the fact that they are here to stay.
Bands like this are so appreciated overseas, and sometimes it takes a little longer for them to come around and/or be appreciated in their own backyards. But with this solid efforts like this, I highly suspect new fans have come around pretty quickly. Blessthefall has it all. They have the chops to drop good tunes and they have the flair to make lasting music. Give them a whirl; I highly recommend it. [ END ]
