On Tuesday I got to hang out with everyone’s favorite indie rockers Poor Young Things at the Steam Whistle Brewery. In celebration of the band’s upcoming EP, Force of Nature (due out October 9) we were treated to a guided Steam Whistle Brewery tour with the guys, complete with snacks and complimentary beer samples.
The tour itself was fun and informative, lots of joking around and a great lesson not only on Steam Whistle but of Toronto history as well. After the tour we were treated to super delicious snacks that included sandwiches, dill pickles, chips and breaded pretzels. The band then gave a stripped down, more modified acoustic preview of some new material off their upcoming album.
I enjoy these types of personal events that incorporate an activity and actually hanging out with the band. It goes a LONG way in creating lasting connections in the music industry. It definitely allows for more discovery behind the band and the music. Such a great idea. Special thanks to Strut Entertainment for the invite, I had an excellent time.
Poor Young Things head out across Canada this October and November, supporting The Glorious Sons on The Contender Tour. You can find tour dates near you at the following link: www.pooryoungthings.com
