Eddie Witz and The Most High Premiere Their Radiant New Single “In California”
Eddie Witz and The Most High are radiating sunshine and positive energy with the premiere of their new single “In California.”
From genre to genre and era to era, California has always provided plenty of inspiration for musicians like Eddie Witz and The Most High. Today, the ensemble reveals “In California,” the third single from their debut EP, I Am What I Am. As we await the release of that EP later this year, Witz and his bandmates are happy to continue to define their musical standing.
“In California” is a nice summer song, confronting the highs and lows of homegrown roots. It’s a song of self-discovery, of someone trying to find themselves within the actualities of California life. It’s a bittersweet journey of trying to find oneself in a large setting, amongst the glamour and charm of America’s largest state.
Commenting on the song, Witz states:
“I aimed to craft breezy, uplifting melodies and seamless arrangements that invite listeners on a musical road trip through California, radiating positive energy and painting a sun-soaked atmosphere. I hope this track resonates with you and brings a touch of California sunshine to your day.”
Sonically, “In California” carries forward the vibe Witz has established with his previous singles. There’s a wholesome, radiant quality to his music that is easy for listeners to connect with. His debut single, “My Island,” was released last October, and it set the stage for the type of artist Witz was aiming to be. But there’s more to his music than just sunshine and tequila shots. For many years, Witz has been confronting the challenges of Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. It’s a condition that can cause painful shingles that affect the facial nerves and cause hearing loss. It has left him with partial paralysis on the right side of his face, head, and neck.
To help deal with his condition and provide himself with focus, Witz turned to songwriting. I Am What I Am will largely reflect on his recent journey of self-discovery and growth. There’s a relaxing element to Witz’s music: how he tries to live his life. So, it’s unsurprising that it’s found its way into his artistic output. I Am What I Am will feature guest appearances from established artists like Sly Dunbar and Robbie Lyn. These are deep, meaningful songs that spread positive messages of hope, healing, and self-discovery. And it’s all done through the universal language of music.
