Delilah Bon, renowned for her bold “Brat Punk” style, has released her latest single, “Finally See Me,” an exploration of her mental health.
Delilah Bon, renowned for her bold “Brat Punk” style, has released her latest single, “Finally See Me,” a raw exploration of her mental health struggles during her teenage years and the challenges she faced within the school system. “Finally See Me” expresses the heartfelt longing to be seen and understood amidst feelings of invisibility.
Written, performed and produced by Delilah, the single offers a candid portrayal of the difficulties encountered as a creative and free-thinking individual in an unsupportive state system, addressing themes of loneliness and bullying.
Of the new song, Delilah Bon says:
“This song is about craving recognition and validation. I receive messages from so many young people who feel just like I did back in school. They tell me they use my music to get through the day, which hits close to home for me. I remember spending lunch breaks hiding in the school toilets, listening to P!nk, just trying to escape the world.”
With its fusion of hip-hop, nu-metal, and riot-grrrl energy, Delilah’s signature “Brat Punk” style provides the perfect backdrop for her raw and emotive plea for recognition. Delilah Bon has a busy summer ahead on the run-up to the album release, with festival performances confirmed for Rock For People in the Czech Republic, Download Festival, 2000 Trees, The Great Escape, and more to be announced.
“Finally See Me” marks the second single from Delilah Bon’s highly anticipated second full-length album, following on from previous releases “Maverick” and the stand-alone singles “WITCH (Ft. Alt Blk Era)” and “Dead Men Don’t Rape.” With her fearless authenticity and unapologetic lyricism, Delilah continues to captivate audiences worldwide, empowering listeners with her relatable messages.
