The Frst Premiere the Music Video for “Bruce Lee” (ft. Kellin Quinn, Bronnie, Sleeping With Sirens)
The Frst premiere the music video for their latest single, “Bruce Lee,” for which they collaborated with Bronnie and Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens for a party rock extravaganza.
Is there a better artist to preach the values of togetherness than The Frst? Our friends today are premiering the music video for their latest single, “Bruce Lee,” another epic team-up between the band and some of their favourite musician friends. Last year, we helped debut their video for “Geronimo,” which featured Just a Ride and English band Solcura.
For “Bruce Lee,” they have collaborated with Bronnie and Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens for a party rock extravaganza. The video clip is a grand old time, with just the right amount of silliness that adds to the upbeat, ra-ra atmosphere of the song. It’s an easygoing, well-intentioned tune about feeling isolated and feeling the urge to bring people together in the most awesome way possible.
Checking in with some commentary is band leader Mikei Gray who states:
“Filming the video was so much fun! I wasn’t really sure if we (Kellin, Bronnie) would be able to make it work with our crazy tour schedules and time zone differences, but it really came together nicely, and definitely stands out from the other videos in our catalog. Major props to The Frst Lady for her direction and Juan Bordeaux for the speedy video editing.
“I’ve been getting a lot of questions about the childhood karate video… That was me when my family first moved to Florida. I was obsessed with Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan and pretty much all martial arts. As I grew up, I loved what Bruce Lee had to say about culture, the world, politics, etc.”
“Bruce Lee” is The Frst’s third single this year, carrying the momentum they have accumulated forward. Gray has really taken the band a long way from their humble beginnings back in 2017. The original intention of The Frst was to be an outlet for him to express himself musically in a way that was more satisfying than what he was accustomed to as a touring guitarist for bands such as Portugal. The Man, Sublime With Rome, and The Florida-Georgia Line. Gray very capably took the lessons he learned from those acts and that time in his life to create one of the most charming and likable alternative acts of today.
