For 17 years of age, we’d say that Maeesha B has everything pretty well put together. The Ottawa-based singer and songwriter released her debut EP, if only u knew, earlier this month. The six-song effort is like an opening statement for her talents as a vocalist and artist. The EP is full of soulful melodies, infectious beats, and well-composed lyrics that will resonate with listeners of any age. There is a real vibe sewn throughout the EP, and it is an encouraging introduction to her artistic intentions. It lays a solid foundation for her future and illustrates her ability to write new and original songs.

Maeesha has also dedicated her music to worthwhile causes. She prides herself on being socially aware and strongly supports global charitable initiatives. She is a big believer in the power of education and wants her music to help inspire positivity. Some of Maeesha’s largest supporters have been the late Shaun Royer and Nick Cooper, both highly acclaimed vocal coaches. Cooper is renowned for his work with Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj. With their guidance, Maeesha has become a more confident performer, and it’s clear that she has a bright future ahead of her.

Being a teen artist is tough, no doubt about it. So Maeesha B joins us today to share with us her Top 10 rules to live by for a young recording artist.
