American rock band Cage The Elephant brought their “Neon Pill Tour” to the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC, after a few years of absence. This time, they returned with support from Willow Avalon, Bakar, and Young The Giant.

Up-and-coming country artist Willow Avalon ran through some of her more popular hits like “Gettin’ Rich, Goin’ Broke,” “Drivin,” and “Tequila.” She even brought singer Cameron Whitcomb to perform a song with her.

London native Bakar was the next to the stage. The singer wore a Vancouver Canucks jersey to show love to the city. “Hell N Back,” “Alive!,” and “NW3” were some of the highlights of his set.

Young The Giant opened up their performance with “Jungle Youth” from their 2016 album Home of the Strenge. Their twelve-song set included “Cough Syrup,” “It’s About Time,” and “Mind Over Matter.” They closed their performance with “My Body.”

The stage was set for Cage the Elephant. They opened up with “Broken Boy,” with six flamethrowers at the front of the stage going on and off throughout the song. The flames went on again for the songs “Cold Cold Cold” and “House of Glass.”

There were also lasers coming from the back of the stage to the very front of it and from there to the roof that was set off when they performed “Social Cues,” “Messing Around,” “Rainbow,” and “Tokyo Smoke.”

After their 18-song set, they left the stage, but Vancouverites wanted to keep the party going. The group returned and delivered a stellar three-song encore of “Shake Me Down,” “Cigarette Daydreams,” and “Come a Little Closer.”

For the whole set, Cage vocalist Matt Shultz did not stop dancing for a second. This energy was through the roof, and the fans matched all of it.
