Ullrson Releases His Latest Viking Techno Single, “Ragnar’s Revenge”
Viking techno specialist, DJ, and producer Ullrson has released his brand new single, “Ragnar’s Revenge.” Check it out now!

Following the success of his first two releases, “Odin, Far Wanderer” and “Dedicated to Odin,” Ullrson returns with his third track of Viking Techno. The Viking Techno sound is represented by Old Norse vocals, jaw harps, throat singing, frantic breaths, and horns.
“Ragnar’s Revenge” recounts the story of Ragnar Lothbrok’s heroic death in a snake pit and the revenge Ragnar’s sons dish out on King Aelle through the legendary Blood Eagle. Ragnar’s defiant last words were “Gnyðja mundu grísir, ef galtar hag vissi” (“How the piglets would squeal if they knew the old boar’s condition”). The boar was a sacred animal to the Vikings, as were the wolf and bear. The boar refers to Ragnar, and the piglets refer to Ragnar’s sons. Hail Ragnar Lothbrok!
The second track is Ullrson’s bootleg of pioneering pagan band Wardruna and their classic track named “Fehu.” Ullrson took lyrics from their original track and also their later Skaldic version. He added variation, new elements, and instruments for the lead sound, resulting in a fresh and unique techno bootleg of this legendary heathen anthem. Fehu is the first rune and relates to cattle, wealth, and resources.
Hail Odin! Hail Ullr!
Announcing the emergence of “Viking Techno,” a groundbreaking sub-genre that harmoniously integrates the musical instruments and styles inherent to Old Norse and Viking cultures with contemporary techno music. This genre is an ideal setting for the phenomenon known as the “Techno Viking,” bridging the divide between historical and modern musical landscapes.
Ullrson is the newly adopted alias of esteemed DJ, Producer, and Radio Host Nick Bowman. Drawing inspiration from Ullr, the enigmatic Norse God associated with archery, oaths, and duelling, Ullrson originates from Norwich, East Anglia, an area replete with rich pagan history and folklore. The moniker pays homage to the region’s storied past, from the Angles settling in East Anglia, a land ruled by the Wuffingas “The Kin of the Wolf,” with links to the epic poem Beowulf, the “Great Heathen Army” and Danish Viking rule to the legendary Queen Boudicca’s resistance against Roman oppression.
Nick Bowman has a distinguished career in the music industry, with 15 years as the host of The Future Underground Show, a techno radio show featuring an illustrious array of international techno talents. He has performed multiple times at notable venues including Ministry of Sound, Pacha London, Egg, and Basing House, among others. His energetic sets, characterized by bass-driven techno, minimal, and tech-house beats, have electrified dance floors across England’s capital.
Internationally, Nick has extended his reach by performing in Colombia, Germany, and Italy. Notably, he secured his first gig at Ministry of Sound upon winning the globally recognized Raw Talent Competition hosted by International DJ Magazine (IDJ). His award-winning mix received critical acclaim from industry giants such as Jody Wisternoff, Riva Starr, and Deepgroove.
