Joseph Luca Announces New EP; Releases “My Best Dancing Shoes” Single
Pop singer-songwriter Joseph Luca has revealed his new single, “My Best Dancing Shoes,” from his latest EP ‘PART 2: Ouroboros (Death).’
Raised in Ojai, CA, Joseph Luca is a progressive artist and songwriter. His music examines love, vulnerability, sexual fluidity, and one’s internal sense of freedom against the will of a repressive society. For fans of Prince, Jeff Buckley, and Miguel, Joseph Luca brings sensual and vulnerable narratives with Pop sensibility to Alternative Soul. Having headlined and sold out the Troubadour, performing with Mike Posner and Haley Reinhart, all the way to performing with Mak J at EDC, Joseph Luca’s stage presence and energy is electric and leaves his fans feeling euphoric and free.
Late last year, Luca unveiled the first new EP in his upcoming three-part EP series: PART 1: Ouroboros (Life). Now, Luca announces details on the next entry in the series: PART 2: Ouroboros (Death), arriving February 16 via ONErpm. Today, Luca also introduces the forthcoming five-track project with its first single, “My Best Dancing Shoes.”
Speaking on the track, Luca writes:
“‘My Best Dancing Shoes’ is a poignant musical narrative that encapsulates the intricacy of an unrequited love story. It weaves the tale of an individual grappling with the acceptance of their authentic self, compelled by a love that remains unreciprocated. The song beautifully metaphorizes dancing shoes as a symbol of embracing one’s purest and most genuine identity despite facing adversity. It speaks of patiently waiting for a kindred spirit to arrive, a partner willing to join in the dance of life as true equals.”
In his upcoming EP, Luca embarks on an introspective odyssey, navigating a profound shift from idealism to realism amidst the intricate realms of love, loss, life, and death. This segment unfurls as a deeply personal expedition, charting Joseph’s inner struggles and triumphs within a complex tapestry of emotions and experiences.
At the core of Luca’s journey lies a series of poignant moments, where the collision of his ideals with life’s stark truths serves as the beginning catalyst for deep self-reflection. His once unyielding idealistic perspective begins to fracture when confronted with the profound depths of life’s challenges.
It’s a journey steeped in introspection. Joseph confronts deep-seated fears, insecurities, and long-held beliefs, leading him toward an unburdened and authentic self. Ultimately, ‘Ego death’ surfaces as a central theme in PART 2: Ouroboros (Death). Luca undergoes a profound shedding of outdated perceptions and attachments, cultivating a newfound resilience rooted in the acceptance of life’s impermanence. This theme highlights the intricate dance between upheaval and personal growth, emphasizing the immense capacity within individuals not just to endure, but ideally, to evolve.
Stay tuned for the full-length EP, arriving February 16th via ONErpm. Listen to the new track “My Best Dancing Shoes” via all DSPs.
