Freddie Gibbs and Madlib Announce “Teñata” 10th Anniversary Tour of ‘Piñata’
Freddie Gibbs and Madlib are set to embark on a three-stop tour to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the acclaimed album ‘Piñata.’

Freddie Gibbs and Madlib are set to embark on a three-stop tour to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the acclaimed album Piñata. The duo will be backed by El Michels Affair, who also performed with Freddie and Madlib on their NPR Tiny Desk Concert. The album earned widespread praise upon its release, landing on numerous year-end lists, including Billboard and Rolling Stone in 2014, and has solidified its place as one of the seminal rap albums of the 2010s in the ten years since.
The tour is scheduled to make stops in Boston, New York City, and Chicago throughout May. The local and venue presale kicks off tomorrow at 10:00 AM local time and runs until Thursday, January 25th, at 10:00 PM local time. The general public sale begins on Friday, January 26th, at 10:00 AM local time.
Released in 2014, Piñata, the first collaborative album of Freddie Gibbs and producer Madlib, weaves a tapestry of gritty storytelling and soulful beats. Gibbs’ raw lyricism delves into the realities of street life, providing a vivid narrative that resonates with authenticity. Madlib’s production, characterized by its intricate sampling and jazzy influences, creates a dynamic backdrop for Gibbs’ verses. Gibbs is joined on Piñata by Mac Miller, Earl Sweatshirt, Raekwon, Scarface, Domo Genesis, Ab-Soul, and a host of others in setting his soliloquies of the streets alongside film snippets and dusted funk, soul and prog musical tapestries.
