Space Memory Effect, aka Amy Wallace, introduces the music video for “One Thing More,” the title track of her recently released debut album. The song took shape through a collaboration with producer and co-songwriter Trevor Lewington.

Speaking about the song, Wallace says,

“At its core, the song ‘One Thing More’ conveys a profound message. It speaks to the universal truth that everyone encounters ‘one thing more’ from time to time – those moments that test our patience and resilience. However, this song encourages listeners to embrace a mindful perspective, reminding them not to take life’s challenges too seriously. Instead, it invites them to find humor in these situations, highlighting that laughter can be the remedy for even the most trying moments.”

Blending elements of folk-rock and pop, “One Thing More” rolls out on low-slung sparkling surfaces, forming a delicious, swaying melody. For some reason, the song conjures up suggestions of 4 Non Blondes, probably because of the smoky-lite timbre of Wallace’s vocals. A dazzling guitar solo infuses the tune with the luminous energy of expectation, adding to the hopefulness of the lyrics.

“Tried your best to make it / But you wonder what for / Tired of cleaning up the same mess / Tired of one thing more.”

Light and catchy, suffused with inherent optimism, Space Memory Effect’s “One Thing More” is one of those songs that lifts listeners out of the doldrums.
