Fit For a King and The Devil Wears Prada Hit Worcester Palladium with Counterparts and LANDMVRKS [Photos]
Fit For A King and co-headliners The Devil Wears Prada lay waste to Worcester Palladium with supporting acts Counterparts and LANDMVRKS.
Here we are, back at my home away from home, the Worcester Palladium. Fit For A King returns by co-headlining with The Devil Wears Prada. They were joined by Counterparts and LANDMVRKS.
The “Metalcore Dropouts” show opened up with LANDMVRKS. The French metalcore band played the Palladium for the first time a year ago, and I was also at that show. It was awesome to get to see them up on the main stage this time, where they could show how they shine, and we can see all their energy. LANDMVRKS played a twenty-five minute set with songs “Lost in a Wave,” “Death,” and “Self Made Black Hole,” to name a few songs. The pit went crazy during their set; everyone was moving and having a great time.
Up next was Counterparts. They opened up with their song “Love Me,” and I could hear the crowd bellowing the lyrics as I took pictures up front. They played nine songs, including “Unwavering Vow,” “Whispers of Your Death,” and “The Disconnect.” I haven’t seen Counterparts in a long time, so it was great to see them live again!
Co-headliners, The Devil Wears Prada paraded on stage and went straight into “Exhibition” and “Watchtower.” They performed thirteen songs during their set. Between songs “Broken” and “Reaching,” they sang “Happy Birthday” to Gabe the Pigeon, and he was brought up on stage. I was so happy when they played my favorite song, “Chemicals.” During TDWP’s set, people were moshing and crowdsurfing, and they definitely kept the security guards busy. They closed with their song “Hey John, What’s Your Name Again?”
Lastly, Fit For A King! I’ve seen this band so many times I’ve lost count. They bring the energy every time I’ve seen them! FFAK opened with “Annihilation” and “Breaking the Mirror.” They also played thirteen songs that night. The setlist consisted of banger after banger with songs like “Deathgrip,” “Eyes Roll Back,” “Slave to Nothing,” “When Everything Means Nothing,” and “The Price of Agony.” They closed the night with their song “God of Fire.” How they have so much energy every night is beyond me. Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary does so many spin kicks and splits on stage; it’s fun to watch!
Metalcore Dropouts is halfway through their tour of the US. Go check it out if it’s in an area around you. If metalcore is your jam (like it clearly is mine), then this tour is for you, with metalcore staples like Fit For a King and The Devil Wears Prada!
