Barely a day old and Bloodstock Open Air were already looking forward to next year as organisers announced 14 bands for the 2024 event which is set to take place from August 8th-11th at Catton Park, Derbyshire.

Amongst the 14 acts confirmed to appear were two of the headliners with Swedish Viking Metal titans Amon Amarth and British chart-toppers Architects confirmed to appear.

Speaking about their headline set, Amon Amarth’s Johann Hegg proclaims, “England! We are excited to be returning to the Bloodstock hallowed grounds to do battle with you and the Saxon hordes! We look forward to fighting and feasting with you! See you soon.”

Also joining the two confirmed headliners, the much-requested Clutch land special guest slot on Friday’s main stage while rising British metallic hardcore squad Malevolance have grabbed a Saturday main stage slot. Also appearing on the main stage across the weekend are Rotting Christ, Flogging Molly, Unleash The Archers, Night Flight Orchestra, Green Lung and Sceptic Flesh.

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
