Fred Abbott

For his second post-Noah And The Whale “solo” album, Shining Under the Soot, Fred Abbott is joined by a band of vocalists including Steve Llewellyn (Orphan Colours, Ahab), Dave Burn (The Marriage, Ahab), Tom Figgins and Rich Evans.

Following the release of the album, Abbot has now released his latest single, the heartbreaking “Where No Shadows Fall”. A poigniant track, the fourth single sees Abbott exploring grief and love and the lies we tell ourselves in order to make the pain of loss bearable.

The result is an emotional song which builds into an epic anthem for heartbreak. V13 has teamed up with Fred to premiere this superb live video for the track shot in 360 degrees which you can check out here:

On the track, Abbott explains, “‘Where No Shadows Fall’ was one of the first songs written for the album. Although extremely simple in form it actually took me many months to finish writing it. The first half explores the fantasy of life after death, the second half exposes the desperation behind that dream, the inescapable feeling that deep down, we know there’s nothing.”

Fred Abbott & The Wild Unknown released Shining Under the Soot through LoJinx Records and you can pick up your copy here.
