Laila Biali Kicks Off Fan-Driven Tour Supporting ‘Your Requests’
Award-winning vocalist/pianist, Laila Biali is excited to be hitting the road to share the songs with audiences across Canada.
Following the release of her new album and first return to the Great American Songbook in more than 10 years, Your Requests, award-winning vocalist/pianist Laila Biali is excited to be hitting the road to share the songs with audiences across Canada. Kicking off this week, she will take the stage with acclaimed collective, The Ostara Project, performing at jazz festivals throughout the summer, followed by dates that will run into the fall. See below for a full list of details.
For a taste of Biali’s stunning re-interpretations found on Your Requests, have a look at the performance video of album highlight, “All The Things You Are,” featuring GRAMMY Award-winning drummer Larnell Lewis (Snarky Puppy).
Widely recognized for her original material, Biali’s return to classic jazz standards for Your Requests (released on May 26th) was prompted by her delight in fulfilling the song requests of her fans. It marked her first album release that exclusively features covers. When she called on social media asking her followers what tunes they’d like to hear her perform and record, more than 150 songs were submitted. The result is what Biali calls a love letter to her listeners.
