Jacob McCurdy’s “Feels Like Home” Will Make You Fall in Love
Jacob McCurdy takes a break from breakup songs to release Indie Americana song “Feels Like Home” that will you fall in love.
Indie-Americana song “Feels Like Home” is the latest single from Jacob McCurdy, which expands his discography beyond his quintessential breakup music and ventures into the world of love songs. A song about falling in love with someone who feels like home, McCurdy wrote “Feels Like Home” when he felt like the world could use more love. During the Covid-19 pandemic, McCurdy began growing tired of writing sad songs. Recovering from a breakup, McCurdy craved the warm familiarity of love and companionship once more.
Inspired by this desire, McCurdy wrote the song alongside Alex Calabrese and Phil Holub to tell the story of falling in love on a back porch under waning golden rays. In previous years Jacob McCurdy has achieved many accomplishments for his music, including winning second place at Seabrook Idol in 2021, opening for Dzeko, and headlining a regional tour. Starting 2023 on a high note, “Feels Like Home” is expected to generate numerous new opportunities for McCurdy in the near future!
Inspired by artists like Lake Street Drive, Jacob McCurdy effortlessly blends his take on soulful rock, folk, roots, and indie pop in the Americana track “Feels Like Home.” In fact, McCurdy and his co-writers originally intended to pitch the song to Lake Street Drive. However, after completely falling in love with the lyrical imagery and dynamic instrumentation of the track, McCurdy decided to release it himself. “Feels Like Home” is the first of three upcoming singles for McCurdy, and in addition to his new music, McCurdy will be playing a release show on March 3, 2023, at The Middle East Upstairs in Cambridge, MA and on March 9, 2023, at The Press Room in Portsmouth, NH.
