Philip Sayce is set to headline the second Cittanova Blues Festival, which will occur from 26 June to 1 July 1, 2023, in Novigrad, Croatia.
After the unforgettable first Cittanova Blues Festival, which put Novigrad on the world blues festival map, this year, an even bigger and longer blues spectacle is coming. At the end of June, Novigrad’s picturesque Croatian coastal town will be transformed into a blues city. World-class blues-rock musicians from Canada/USA, the UK, Mali, North Macedonia and Croatia will perform at the festival, bringing a rich supporting programme. And admission is FREE! More info can be found here.
The headliner of the second Cittanova Blues Festival is Philip Sayce, one of the best electric guitarists on the planet. The immensely talented Welsh-born Canadian and USA-based guitarist and singer with a stunning rock/blues style will perform at the festival on 30 June as part of a European tour to promote his latest album, Spirit Rising.
In addition to the evening concerts on the main stage in the town’s main square, concerts will also be held during the day all across the hospitable town. You can enjoy your morning coffee with Blues Morning Coffee and early evening aperitivo with Sunset Blues. Every evening, after the main stage programme, there will be a jam session in the 9 Pub-Devetka.
This year, for the first time, there will be a Blues Challenge for bands and performers at the beginning of their careers, screenings of Blues documentaries, musical instrument presentations, workshops, a sales exhibition of limited handmade musical accessories and gadgets from artisans, and the Blues Train, which will take you around the local wineries.
Comments Denis Makin and Vladimir Brajan, organizers of the festival:
“We started to realise our dream of a blues festival in our town of Novigrad last year, and the extremely positive impressions from the audience gave us an extra incentive to make this year’s festival even bigger and longer! We are very proud to have the phenomenal guitarist and singer Philip Sayce as our headliner, and will be announcing a full line-up of other great names in the coming weeks.”
