The post-punk scene has a new record label with Alfa Matrix launching the sub-label Spleen+.
Spleen+ will be accommodating post-punk and new/coldwave releases. The Brussels (BE)-based label launches with two bands; the Belgian post-punk act The Ultimate Dreamers and the Italian new wave act Imjudas.
The Ultimate Dreamers launched their label debut with the EP Polarized next to the augmented vaults release Live Happily While Waiting For Death (The Complete Demo Collection 1986-1990) download compendium. They will also release their new album, Echoing Reverie, on March 25th. The Italian new wave act Imjudas from its side presents two new EPs, People Of The Blame and So Untrue; both releases are available now via Spotify and Bandcamp.
Seba Dolimont A&R behind Spleen+ explains the creation of the label:
“The idea from our side is to simply contribute to this post-punk movement offering it some structured and more targeted approach cos there are so many talented artists out there in need of support in their DIY efforts. And this without bringing us too far away from our roots cos the label team is made of 3 friends born in the early ’70s who were fed on Joy Division, The Cure, Siouxsie, Sisters of Mercy and other Ghost Dance, X-Mal Deutschland and Skeletal Family and not only on ’80s synth pop and the Belgian Electronic Body Music movement!”
