Janet Gardner (w/ Sister Shotgun) @ The Factory (Manchester, UK) on May 26, 2018 [Photos & Show Review]
Vixen vocalist Janet Gardner brought her solo tour to Manchester recently where we joined her fans to check out the singer as she was promoting her 2017 solo record.
Janet Gardner, for those who don’t know, rose to fame as part of female hard rockers Vixen back in the early 1990’s. Touring in support of her self-titled 2017 solo album, Janet is in the UK for a short run of dates including one at The Factory in Manchester. She is joined on the tour by Sister Shotgun who deliver a solid, impressive set of hard rock warming Janet’s fans up nicely for the return of the hard rock singer.
Now, having been performing live for over 30 years, it comes as no surprise to find that Janet puts on a slick performance pulling a set list primarily lifted from her solo album including an emotional “Candle” along with other cuts such as “Rat Hole” and “The Good Or The Bye”. She blasts out a raucous cover of Kiss classic “Love Gun” towards the end of the set much to the joy of her fans. All too soon her set is over and, although it may have been a brief visit to Manchester, if her fans have any say, it won’t be too long before she is back.
