City Reign – “Disappear” [SoundCloud Song Stream]
Do you ever feel like you just want to press pause? Take five minutes of peace and let the white noise of the “everyday-being-there” subside? Many bands write songs about the frustrations of the day job. Not since the National’s early records has a band managed it while delicately balancing between effortless introspective subtly and irrepressible energy. Yet this is fast becoming the hallmark of Manchester band City Reign.
The Skinny: Do you ever feel like you just want to press pause? Take five minutes of peace and let the white noise of the “everyday-being-there” subside? Many bands write songs about the frustrations of the day job. Not since the National’s early records has a band managed it while delicately balancing between effortless introspective subtly and irrepressible energy. Yet this is fast becoming the hallmark of Manchester band City Reign.
Hot on the heels of recent single “When You Got It All,” City Reign return with new single “Disappear,” and it’s easily their darkest, and heaviest song to date. It’s no wonder they’ve had the knowing nod of approval from the likes of Steve Lamacq, Clash Magazine and Fake DIY amongst many others. Everybody knows the guitar is making another come back. We now know they’re bringing City Reign with them.
