On this, the band’s tenth studio album, the guys are at the top of their game proving there is indeed none heavier than the mighty Crowbar.

For almost 25 years now, the sludge masters of metal, Crowbar, have been beating listeners into submission with some of the heaviest, doomiest riffs known to mankind. On Symmetry In Black riff wizard and lead vocalist, Kirk Windstein, once again dishes out a crushing array of punishing guitars and brutal vocals. On this, the band’s tenth studio album, the guys are at the top of their game proving there is indeed none heavier than the mighty Crowbar.

“Walk With Knowledge Wisely” kicks things off in a big way; it is a melodic, intensely heavy tune that sets both the tone and pace for the rest of this killer disc. While “Ageless Decay” and “Shaman Of Belief” are by far my favorite tracks on the disc, in all honesty, I love Symmetry In Black from top to bottom, including the rather mellow “Amaranthine,” a song that comes at the perfect time in the sequence, allowing the listener to regain composure before embarking into the metallic onslaught once again.

We are already into August and Symmetry In Black is easily one of the best albums I have heard this year. It is definitely going to be a candidate for my top album of 2014 and I don’t think many will disagree.
