Versus Ursus – “Versus Ursus” [EP]
This self-titled, two song EP by the UK-based metal band Versus Ursus is being offered as a name-your-own-price digital download at the group’s Bandcamp page. After listening to these two songs all I can say is that if you’re a fan of heavy music, than you should head out and purchase this right away; it’s just sick!

Both tunes are downright heavy, raw and dirty, riff-driven affairs with a bit of an experimental aspect to boot; especially in regard to traditional song structures and the use of ambient guitars juxtaposed with guttural vocals. I think these guys have amazing potential and it will be interesting to see if they can keep this momentum when they release their full-length later this year. I really love this EP… it was enough to whet my whistle, but I can’t wait to hear more.
