Book Review
Howie Abrams & Sacha Jenkins – “The Merciless Book of Metal Lists” [Book Review]
The Merciless Book of Metal Lists is exactly what you might expect; except better, much better! I think any true metalhead will find this book to be entertaining, amusing, and at time even humorous. Of course there are the standard prerequisite top ten lists of things like, “Best Metal Bassist” and “Best Metal Album,” things that us metalheads have been adamantly arguing about since the genre’s inception.
In addition to these standard lists the reader will find things like “Ten Observations From Lemmy’s Warts,” “Birth Names of Metal Heroes,” and a list of “Completely Unnecessary Heavy Metal Subgenres.” The book is capped off with a pretty challenging heavy metal crossword puzzle. I found this to be not only informative, (I learned the real name of King Diamond), but also funny and loaded to the gills with self-deprecating humor.
If you are a metalhead then this is a book you are going to want to totally check out!
