The Skinny: PKEW PKEW PKEW (gunshots) is a 5 piece band from Toronto, Ontario. They take their name from the sound a gun makes when it’s shot. They’ve only been a band since January of 2010 and in their short time have managed to record an EP entitled Royalty, which was released digitally on iTunes and physically on cassette tape.
They’ve also gained a reputation for having an engaging, energetic and rowdy live performance. PKEW PKEW PKEW (gunshots) has had the opportunity of sharing the stage with some great local acts including OPOPO, Hot Kid and Terror Lake. They have also had the chance to open for some fantastic touring bands including The Famines (Edmonton) and TURBOGEIST (London, UK). Other appearances include a showcase at The Edge 102.1 studio and Numerous Indie music podcasts throughout North America. These guys have been described as “Ass-Kicking Rockers” and should not be overlooked next Summer.
