Album Review
Orchid’s Curse – “Voices: The Tale of Broken Men”
Rewind to September 2004, and Orchid’s Curse released their EP Goodbye is When the Casket Closes…. Fast forward four years to present day and the band dropped their long overdue record Voices: The Tale of Broken Men. Four year absence aside, the time had come once again for this band to show what real metal is all about.

With this new release, Orchid’s Curse has proved their worth, delivering pounding metal worthy of every fan. The instrumentals are heavy with supreme melodic guitar overlays while the growls are deep, powerful and sometimes shrilling. It is no wonder these guys have pushed through the masses of East Coast metal.
At the end of the name of every song on this release lies a human emotion that describes the tone of the song which will enable the listener to relate to the songs through their own life experiences. Some may call this ‘emo’ but, I call it metal. A band willing to touch upon the complex array of emotions that are part of the human experience gets a check mark in my book.
Voices: The Tale of Broken Men was long overdue but as people say, “better late than never.” I’m happy to finally get the chance to hear a full length from Orchid’s Curse. If you’re a fan of Last Call Chernobyl, UIGG, The.Daisy.Anthesis. or Lamb Of God, make sure you check out this album. [ END ]
