Album Review
Soldiers – “End Of Days”
THIS IS HELL….NOT! This is a review instead for a side-project, Soldiers and their recent album End Of Days. Hailing from Long Island, New York, Soldiers are calling out all hardcore fans to throwdown to this release. How could fans in the scene not be interested in a band with members of affiliated acts such as Subterfuge, Her Last Words, This Is Hell and other notable groups?

When I first got End Of Days in the mail, I was really excited and in an instant placed the CD in my disc tray and pressed play. At that moment I heard all the instruments crash together dragging out the first note. This is when I knew something ample will happen, and something did. Rick Jimenez shouted at the top of his lungs and everyone came in playing a perfect beat to 2-step on. From their, my ears were bathed in the sound of Soldiers. Fast paced, heavy and powerful, this band is a superstar hardcore band bringing lots of the older hardcore style but also keeping it current with the breakdowns we have this day in age. A breakdown I really liked was on “Even Worse.” When hearing this I could imagine a huge pit of kids throwing down to it. The whole album has great songs on it that just charge me up to maximum energy. If Duracell Batteries ever wanted to appeal to teens, they should start using Soldiers in their commercials.
End Of Days is pretty straight forward with fast instrumentals and loud vocals. The one member which I think stands out on this album is Dan Bourke. He is a great drummer live and also on the recordings. He complexes certain parts but will also simplify parts. He is one of the top drummers in the hardcore scene keeping everything solid and entertaining when live. If anyone gets a chance to see him in any of his bands, definitely watch him.
Soldiers deserve a big following with
