Rock and Roll the way it was meant to be. That is the best way to describe Rock ‘n’ Roll the debut release from Social Code. Each song stands on its own and has a gritty, unapologetic feel to it while still maintaining a good amount of pop sensibility. It is very easy to see these songs gaining plenty of airplay on rock stations as most of the songs come standard with at least one unforgettable hook that will translate well to radio.
In a music climate where many bands rely on gimmicks and hype Social Code are an unpretentious quartet that has put together a solid debut CD that should go a long way to getting the band noticed. Songs worth notable mention are “I’m Not Ok” and “You Never Know What You Got Until It’s Gone.” Both of these tracks are riff driven and packed to the gills with catchy choruses and boast a super tight, great sounding production as well. By far my favorite tune is the single “Satisfied” mainly because it has tons of grit and swagger; both of which I feel are necessary ingredients for great Rock and Roll.
At the end of the day, I do not feel it will take long for Social Code to be noticed and when they are, expect to hear them flooding the airwaves. Bottom line, this real good high-energy rock record has been in regular rotation on my player and is well worth picking up when it is released on March 23rd. [ END ]
