Drive By

I Hate Everyday Without You Kid… (2006)

In the melting pot that is Alternative Rock Music, Drive By seem to be making there way well through it. Gaining popularity on myspace daily, great riffs and cool music, the band has that recipe for success.

As I started to listen, I thought to myself, wow I understand these lyrics, there is no screaming. Whoever started that screaming stuff Grr to them, but maybe that’s ‘cause I’m old and can’t rebel against my parents!?

Drive By, a cross between (homegrown talent that is) Mugshot and bands like Hidden in Plain View is how I would describe these Jersey boys.

Fast-paced songs, comprehendible lyrics, and great guitar and drum riffs, makes me one happy reviewer. I’m usually not too hard on bands, but I like this band I probably will add them to my sexy looking Ipod.

This debut album is one they can be proud of. Screw mainstream radio, start hitting up more satellite radio, and the band would probably do well. More opportunities to be heard will definitely benefit these guys!

Tracks 1 through 6 are pretty fast paced; “The Hand that Cuts” puts up the slow down sign and is pretty slow paced, but still good nevertheless. It’s a pretty intense song toward the end. “Spending Time Alone” another slower track yet not as slow as the previous one.

The vocals throughout the whole album are killer, I’m really down with understanding what vocalist Todd Price has to say, the tone of his voice is very listenable. Add Drive By to the Jersey List of awesome bands to come from that part of the US!
