Multi-talented singer-songwriter MkX releases his latest electro-pop banger, “MAN ON A MISSION,” written by MkX, Myah Marie, and Brandon Colbein and produced by MkX.
MkX explains, “I wanted to write a song that serves as a lyrical artist statement. A song that explains who I am, what I do, and why I do what I do.”
“MAN ON A MISSION” is the first of a series of songs MkX will drop throughout 2024. The track amalgamates MkX’s influences – electro-pop, hyperpop, and R&B – with a narrative revealing his desire to express his individuality through music and fashion.
With hits like “right place, at the right time,” “Fall,” and “One Sided Love,” MkX’s music has been featured on Sirius XM and The iHeart Dunkin’ Music Lounge, as well as charting on Mediabase’s Top 40. As part of a duo with his sister on drums, MkX has shared the stage with Ariana Grande, Christina Perri, and Rixton.
The video, directed by Scott McCullough, mirrors the sound of “MAN ON A MISSION” – dark, sleek, and futuristic with tints of ’80s nostalgia. Visually striking, the video utilizes geometric shapes, silhouettes, and exaggerated proportions to create a stylish revelation.
Highlighted by a heavy, throbbing rhythm topped by glossy, chirping synths, “MAN ON A MISSION” pulsates with contagious electro-pop energy. Ebbing and rising from melodic tones to a virtuoso falsetto, MkX’s mobile voice imbues the lyrics with the passion of his objective.
