Osheaga Festival: Day 3 (w/ The Weeknd, Run the Jewels & More) @ Parc Jean-Drapeau (Montreal, QC) on August 6, 2017 [Photos & Recap]
Day 3 of Osheaga was arguably the best day, partly because it didn’t rain finally and it was packed. Getting through the crowd was like finding your way out of a cornfield maze.
Day 3 of Osheaga was arguably the best day, partly because it didn’t rain finally and it was packed. Getting through the crowd was like finding your way out of a cornfield maze. Things started off right with LA’s Cherry Glazerr, who put out a fun record at the start of this year, make sure you check that out. Followed by Swedish pop sensation, Zara Larsson, who kept the dancing going and the hits coming, and the crowd was more than happy to oblige to dance along.
The highlight of this year for me was Bishop Briggs. Clad in minimalist black skirt and a black Adidas jacket, she is a force to be reckoned with as she crisscrossed to either end of the stage for her entire set, looking out and occasionally smiling at the massive crowd’s positive reception to her set. A mix of trip-hop/blues/r&b makes for a grand sound and she was beyond great. There is nothing like seeing an performer for the first time and getting blown away by their performance. A passionate musician just waiting for that breakthrough!
Other notable acts: Phantogram, Tegan and Sara, Run the Jewels, Die Antwoord, and closing the festival The Weeknd, with a subdued performance, but man can he sing and make people, mostly the ladies, swoon.
