Dead Tired @ The Phoenix Concert Theatre (Toronto, ON) on March 12, 2015 [Show Review]
Dead Tired gets it, they understand the importance of a performance. This group had the energy of 1,000 coffees mixed with 500 Red Bulls.
Been working a steady grind of opening shifts as of late which requires a 4:15 am wake up call and plenty of coffee. Thursday March 12 was no different, as I walked around like a zombie with too much caffeine in my system. I could have fallen asleep standing up. But anyway, I needed to make it through to the night because I had tickets to see the Cancer Bats that night at The Phoenix for their CD release show.
I’ve been a fan of this band since I was a 15 year old kid living in the East Coast, but with that being said I was fuckin’ tired. As I entered The Phoenix looking like a zombie, a friend and I went straight for the bar (not the best idea for staying up). After two beers I thought I was doomed, that is, until the opening band Dead Tired hit the stage.
This group had the energy of 1,000 coffees mixed with 500 Red Bulls. I was instantly awake and energized for the rest of the night. Dead Tired gets it, they understand the importance of a performance. From throwing kids off stage to spitting on their instruments, the pure energy they provided me, and everyone else in the crowd, was fucking amazing!
THANK YOU Dead Tired for leaving me anything but tired after your performance!
