Mike Watt – “Demon Divas and the Lanes Of Damnation” [DVD Review]
As far “B movies” go, Demon Divas and the Lanes Of Damnation is a pretty good one. The title alone was more than enough to compel me to watch and man I’m glad I did. With tons of tongue-in-cheek humor and cheesy special effects, all set in a small town bowling alley, this movie has a lot to offer the fan of off center, non-mainstream movies.
Here’s the setup: a college sorority holds a mixer in the local bowling alley that just happens to be owned by a group of blood thirsty tattooed “she demons”. While at the mixer the college coeds play strip bowling and take the opportunity to torment the two homely looking alley employees, Lisa and Taffy. From there, things quickly escalate between the two groups.
The tormenting eventually becomes too much for the two waitresses and that is when they unknowingly make a deal with their employers that could cost them more than they bargained for. Mayhem ensues as the two exact their revenge. But is this what they really signed up for? Is this what they had in mind when they asked for help? Tune in and see the climactic final bloody battle between good and evil play out on the lanes of the bowling alley.
