Red Wanting Blue – “These Magnificent Miles: on the Long Road with Red Wanting Blue” [DVD Review]
These Magnificent Miles: On The Long Road With Red Wanting Blue is a documentary that follows Red Wanting Blue (one of the top independent bands) as they try to obtain a record deal for their eighth studio album. For more than a decade now Red Wanting To Blue has been touring the country bringing their brand of rock music to the masses.
The film contains tons of footage of the band in the studio, on the stage and traveling down the highways and byways of America while on tour. The video is extremely well produced and it’s easy to immerse oneself into the film and almost feel like you’re part of the band as they struggle to make it to the next city.
The DVD also includes quite a few in-depth interviews with band members and their peers. As many readers already know I’m a fan of the behind the scenes, documentary-type segments and These Magnificent Miles more than satisfied this. It’s here that viewers can get an intimate, behind the scenes look into the band’s inner sanctum.
At the end of the day I would say this is a really good documentary style DVD that portrays one of the most underrated bands on the scene today. These guys are really good and it’s a shame they have not been picked up by the masses yet. Perhaps this DVD and the subsequent CD release will garner these guys the attention they deserve.
