Offset Kicks Off First-Ever Solo Tour in Boston at the House of Blues [Photos]
Offset donned the House of Blues in Boston, MA last week for his “SET IT OFF” tour, featuring Mango Foo, Skilla Baby, and SleazyWorld Go.
Grammy-nominated rapper Offset kicked off his first solo headlining tour this month. We were lucky enough to catch the star’s “SET IT OFF” tour in Boston, MA at the House of Blues last week. The tour is in support of his album of the same name, featuring major artists such as Travis Scott, Future, Cardi B, and Don Toliver. Along for the ride, this stop of the tour was Mango Foo, Skilla Baby, and SleazyWorld Go.
I’ll start by saying this was the most fun show I’ve been to yet this year. Not only was it packed with immense talent from the world of rap, but the show itself was one big party. All three openers were incredibly interactive with the crowd, hopping onto the barricade and even stage-diving into the fans. They each performed at least one of their songs in the crowd’s quickly forming mosh pits. Cell phones lit up the pit as people recorded the fun chaos that ensued with fans being able to get close to the artists.
I didn’t know a single word but I was bopping my head to the beats the entire time. Another thing I absolutely loved about this show was the continuous entertainment. Shortly after doors, opener Mango Foo entered the stage immediately followed by SleazyWorld Go who went back to back with Skilla Baby. The wait for Offset wasn’t long and the opening talent had the crowd ready to go.
The stage was donned with a large set of white stairs and two DJ booths beside them at the top. Offset came flying down the stairs to “Say My Grace” as two female dancers flanked him on either side. The rapper spent half the first song in the air, jumping up and down to his own beats while CO2 canons shot smoke through the air.
Not only did he rock some of his new music, but Offset also featured several Metro Boomin, 21 Savage, Future, Kodak Black, and Tyga covers before he spent the majority of the latter half of the show covering songs by his previous group, Migos. He also brought out Mango Foo to perform “SKYAMI.”
Throughout the set, there was high energy and well-planned choreography. Along with the two female dancers were two male dancers who covered the stage all night with hip-hop and break-inspired movements. Offset even followed the moves himself before ending the night on “Bad and Boujee.” He stood on the barricade for the majority of the song before jumping into the crowd. The whole place went crazy, with the crowd pushing back and forth in waves to get to the rap star. It was clear Offset cares about his fans and has as much fun with them as they do with him.
This show is an absolute must-see. I haven’t had this much fun at a show in a while, and I cannot recommend it enough.
