$UICIDEBOY$ Member Ruby da Cherry Debuts Duckboy Pop-Punk Project

Ruby is continuing to work with his cousin $crim in $uicideboy$. The duo recently appeared on the FAST X original motion picture soundtrack as well as a series of EPs titled the Yin Yang Tapes, consisting of four parts named after the seasons: spring, summer, winter and fall. Additionally, they collaborated with their labelmate Shakewell on a joint project called Shameless $uicide.
While delving into the pop-punk realm as Duckboy, the alter-ego persona allows him to explore his musical range as he performs all vocals and instruments. The name Duckboy is a symbolism of “ducking” past life’s trials and distractions and serves as a unique reflection of Ruby’s personal journey.
The new project combines punk’s spirit with the appeal of pop. tragic love songs to study to [vol. 5] allows Ruby to explore new sounds and melodies. The high-energy project still maintains introspective lyrics but goes beyond his skills as a rapper.
4 of the songs have lyric videos, including the first song, “ROUGAROU (i’ve become the monster),” which was inspired by the mythical Louisiana folklore creature. Other tracks include “XXL hadron collider,” “my love life needs a lobotomy,” and “after further reasoning, i’m going to bed.”
Following their top-billed performance spot at the Coachella Music Festival and the Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash, the $uicideboy$ will kick off their annual Grey Day Tour, which consists of over 40 shows at arenas and amphitheatres across the country. Later this summer, they are set to perform at Kid Cudi’s 2nd annual Moon Man’s Landing festival in Cleveland, OH.
