Victims of the New Math Release ‘I Will Be Your Blue Sky’
Victims of the New Math, the brainchild of Thomas Young, has once again graced the music world with their latest sonic creation, I Will Be Your Blue Sky. In this new full-length album, the band delves into profound and personal experiences, weaving a narrative that touches on themes of loss, loneliness, rejection, and love—all while dressed in the ultra Lofi rock aesthetic we’ve grown to appreciate from the project.
The origin of their signature sound begins with the band’s roots in the late ’80s, fueled by a desire to capture the nostalgic AM Radio rock sounds of their childhood, evolving over the years to encompass influences ranging from 90s lo-fi rock to modern indie vibes.
Victims of the New Math’s commitment to explorative cohesiveness, both thematically and musically, shines through in this new album, making it another staple in their current catalog. Thomas Young, the driving force behind Victims of the New Math, expresses his excitement for the album, stating that “it surpasses anything I’ve done before.”
I Will Be Your Blue Sky promises a very unique sonic experience, channeling the spirit of a bygone era of recording while addressing the complexities of the present.
