Lytham Festival Set for Huge Week of Gigs at Summer 2023 Event [Festival Preview]
The coastal town of Lytham is set to rock with seven days of gigs this month. Get all the details on who will be appearing right here.
Taking place in the coastal town of Lytham, Lytham Festival has confirmed a huge line-up for their Summer 2023 calendar culminating in the appearance of rock superstars Def Leppard and Motley Crue.
Festival director Peter Taylor said: “What a line-up! We are always excited to reveal who will be coming to Lytham Festival and for 2023 we have one of our best line-ups to date.
Each year we endeavour to work with artists who appeal to as wide an audience as possible. So when you’ve got Jamiroquai opening the festival, George Ezra the following night, and then Sting with special guest Blondie, I think it’s fair to say that represents a very varied week at Lytham.
Add to that we are delighted we have the icon that is Lionel Richie finally coming to us and of course, we’ve already announced we have arguably the world’s most iconic and celebrated rock legends to close the festival – Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe.
Lytham Festival is all about the audience and what we can bring to those music fans every year. 2023 represents a huge line up of both international stars and homegrown talent. It’s going to be a big year.”
The full line-up reads as follows:
June 28th – Jamiroquai
The opening night of Lytham Festival 2023 will see English Funk and acid jazz outfit Jamiroquai headline on Wednesday June 28. Led by jazz-infused soulman Jay Kay, expect all the hits from “From Too Young To Die” and “Space Cowboy” to huge crowd pleasers like “Virtual Insanity” as Lytham kicks off with the biggest ever funk night.
June 29th – George Ezra
Brit favourite George Ezra arrives in Lytham having last appeared there in 2018. The songwriter returns in support of his third album The Gold Rush Kid released earlier this year and off the back of a sold-out UK arena tour.
June 30th – Sting w/Blondie
Friday night will see Lytham welcome rock royalty in the form of Sting who will be joined by US rockers Blondie. Expect career-spanning sets from both acts and, as an added bonus, support will come from Yorkshire’s indie heroes Kaiser Chiefs and rising Australian sibling trio Germein.
July 1st – Lionel Richie
Speaking of musical icons, Lionel Richie makes a long-awaited appearance at Lytham Festival. Having sold over 125 million albums worldwide, Saturday night will see Lytham party as Richie is joined by special guests Gabrielle, Kim Wilde and Kevin Davy White.
July 2nd – Def Leppard w/ Motley Crue
Now, if we’re talking about partying, it may be Sunday night and the end of a week of gigs, but Lytham Festival is going to sign off in style as UK rock giants Def Leppard and US hard rock heavyweights Motley Crue bring their US stadium tour to Lytham as part of their ongoing co-headliner tour.
