Ministry Debuts New Single “Search And Destroy” off Upcoming Album ‘Moral Hygiene’
Ministry’s 15th studio album ‘Moral Hygiene’ is en route (out on October 1st via Nuclear Blast Records), and today the band has unveiled a Dean Karr-directed video for the new single, “Search And Destroy,” a cover of The Stooges classic.
As we know, Ministry is gearing up for their 23-date “The Industrial Strength Tour” with support from special guests Helmet and Front Line Assembly which sees the industrial metal veterans celebrating both their 40th year as a band and the 30-year anniversary of The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste.
Well, the band’s new 15th studio album Moral Hygiene is also en route (out on October 1st via Nuclear Blast Records), and today the band has unveiled a Dean Karr-directed video for the new single, “Search And Destroy,” a cover of The Stooges classic.
Accompanying Ministry founder and frontman Al Jourgensen (vocals, guitar) on the tour will be Roy Mayorga (drums), Paul D’Amour (bass), Cesar Soto (guitar), Monte Pittman (guitar) and John Bechdel (keyboards).
Regarding the new track, Jourgensen shares: “We rehearsed it and the song was perfect but the show was running late and by the time we got on stage, I was in half time and singing the lyrics twice as slow. Fortunately, Billy and Dave Navarro are professionals and they realized what was going on and sort of covered for me but I felt horrible. Billy thought it actually sounded really good in half-time so he came to me with the idea of going into the studio and recording it that way. And I figured I owed him one.”
