King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard @ The Danforth Music Hall (Toronto, ON) on April 5, 2017 [Photos]
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard started on a rather low energy level and upped their ante song after song until it was a full-blown psych rock party.
When I first heard the name “King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard” I didn’t really know what to expect. I was envisioning a red neck Doors band. Wrong continent, not The Doors, yet still very psychedelic-esque in their sound. The first noticeable thing were the two drum kits facing each other on stage. This Australian 7-piece put on quite the performance for a packed Danforth Music Hall in Toronto. Their power kind of crept up on you. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard started on a rather low energy level and upped their ante song after song until it was a full-blown psych rock party. Moshing, crowd surfing, and just a packed house having a great time. It was a great show, simply put.
