The Skinny: We’re thrilled to be able to begin your week with an exclusive premiere of the brand new track “Carvings in the Door” from acclaimed Instrumentalists, Tempel. The highly regarded, Arizona-based metal duo are gearing up to release their sophomore album, The Moon Lit Our Path, on June 16 (June 15 in the UK/EU, June 19 in Germany) and beginning today, you can sink your teeth into the enthralling new sounds!
The Moon Lit Our Path, the successor Tempel’s stunning debut, On The Steps of the Temple, was recorded at guitarist Ryan Wenzel’s Phoenix-area Arrowhead Studio and includes stunning album artwork by Lucas Ruggieri (Kylesa, Dragged Into Sunlight), check it out just below. Five bran new songs, including the album’s 8-minute opener “Carvings in the Door,” take elements of progressive, black, death and post-metal and blend them into one massive-sounding, cohesive metal mixture.
“Carvings in the Door” is now available as an “instant grat” download with digital pre-orders of the new album on iTunes and Bandcamp. Pre-orders of “The Moon Lit Our Path” on CD and gatefold 2LP are available now via the Prosthetic web shop, including an exclusive 180-gram clear vinyl variant limited to 200 copies worldwide. Also available for pre-order is a new vinyl pressing of “On The Steps Of The Temple,” the first two pressings of which sold out in short order last year.
