Red Seas Fire – “The Gold Room” [Song Review]
The first thought that popped into my mind as “The Gold Room” sparked into life was how similar vocalist Robin Graves was to Sempiternal-era Oli Sykes (Bring Me The Horizon). That’s where the similarities end though because Red Seas Fire are much more about bludgeoning you with crushing, juddering riffs, if “The Gold Room” is any indication.

A breathtaking display of metallic brutality, The Gold Room will certainly prick up the interest of any modern metal fan. Taken from Confrontation, the recently released second in a series of three EPs from these Bristol riff merchants, all the signs are there that this offering is something worth your while picking up. Ferocious from start to finish, “The Gold Room” is a glorious, groovy, vicious lesson in bludgeoning British metal from a band that we shall most definitely be keeping an eye on in the coming months.
