We are proud to offer you “Battle of Egos Part I” as a free download from Greek metal band Winter Crescent. The roots of Winter Crescent go all the way back to the year 2000 when the band formed in Heraklion Crete, Greece by lead guitarist Alexis Ktistakis. It was not until 2008 though that the band could really boast a solid lineup after many lineup changes that occurred over the previous eight years. The band recorded its first EP entitled Battle of Egos in 2009 and self-released the seven song effort that May. Reaction was positive to this debut release as the Greek Metal Hammer named it their pick of the month for September. It also was well-received by various magazines and e-zines all over the world.
One of the coolest breaks for Winter Crescent came in the summer of 2011 when all of the songs from Battle of Egos were featured in the Xbox version of Rock Band 3. This really helped expose the band to a whole new audience of people in regions of the world that might not have ever had the chance to hear their music. The group has carried this momentum forward and hope to have new material released soon.
